Starting point: an existing user or customer, their previous company, and an identifier such as LinkedIn.
Outcome: a reviewed update to your customer record and, when available, a new account to explore.
Only pay when a job change is found. You aren’t charged for unchanged or inconclusive results. Company enrichment after the check is billed separately.
1. Choose who to check
Start with users whose relationship to your product you already know: a buyer, an active user, or someone who helped their team adopt it. Store that relationship in your own system.
Your scheduler determines who to check and how often. Waterfall does not create a recurring tracker from a single request.
2. Check against the previous company
Call Track users across companies with the previous company domain and the person’s identifier. Include your user or account ID in custom_fields.
3. Review the result
- Moved: inspect the new company and title in
output.person.
- Left: record the departure without inventing a new employer.
- No change: retain the current association.
- Unknown: leave the employment record unchanged and review later if needed.
Keep the old association and the check result so your team can understand the update.
4. Explore the new account
If a new company domain is present, enrich that account. Your team can decide whether the company fits and whether reconnecting makes sense.
Do not automatically transfer the old company’s subscription, workspace membership, or permissions to the person’s new employer. Employment enrichment is context for your workflow.
